How Blockchain Secures Your Documents (Concept)
In a real blockchain-secured vault:
- Immutability: Once a document's hash (a unique digital fingerprint) is recorded on the blockchain, it cannot be altered or deleted. This provides a permanent, verifiable record.
- Tamper-Proof: Any attempt to change the document would result in a different hash. Comparing the document's current hash with the one stored on the blockchain can instantly reveal tampering.
- Decentralization: The blockchain ledger is typically distributed across many computers, making it highly resistant to single points of failure or censorship.
- Transparency & Auditability: While document contents can remain private, the record of their existence and integrity (via hashes and timestamps) can be transparently audited.
This page simulates adding documents and generating mock hashes. A true implementation would involve complex backend integration with a blockchain network.
